Our aim is to charm you with our spectacular natural environment, to intrigue you with our local ancient heritage and to lighten your heart.
Discover local walks through magical scenery, step back in time to visit landscapes formed from some of the Earth's oldest rocks and visit our enigmatic monuments which date from the stone age onwards. And, if that's not enough, we would love to welcome you to participate in our online or in-person events and projects.

Ble mae Llan Idris? | Where is Llan Idris?
Llan Idris is that place in your heart to which always want to return. Its boundaries are blurry and multidimensional. It exists to the far west of the British Isles, on the coast of mid-Wales, looking towards Ireland.
Our world is centred on the legendary mountain of Cadair Idris (which translates as the chair of the giant Idris). In Welsh mythology, the giant Idris was the ancient father of astronomy who would sit on his mountaintop chair to study the stars.
The enclosed land (llan) of Llan Idris is bounded by the mighty rivers of the Dyfi and the Mawddach and the sea. The spirit of Llan Idris may also outcrop unexpectedly at places from where Cadair Idris is visible and at places where stories of Idris Gawr (Idris the Giant) linger.
Llan Idris yw’r lle hwnnw yn eich calon rydych bob amser eisiau dychwelyd iddo.
Mae ei ffiniau’n aneglur ac amlddimensiwnol. Saif ymhell i’r gorllewin o Ynysoedd Prydain, ar arfordir canolbarth Cymru, yn edrych tua Iwerddon.
Canolbwynt ein byd yw’r mynydd chwedlonol Cadair Idris (sy’n cyfieithu fel cadair y cawr Idris). Yn niwylliant Cymreig, roedd y cawr Idris yn dad hynaf seryddiaeth, a fyddai’n eistedd ar ei gadair fynyddig i astudio’r sêr.
Caiff y tir caeedig (llan) o Lan Idris ei ffinio gan afonydd grymus y Dyfi a’r Mawddach a’r môr. Gall ysbryd Llan Idris hefyd ymddangos yn annisgwyl mewn mannau lle mae Cadair Idris i’w gweld, ac mewn llefydd lle mae straeon Idris Gawr yn parhau i fyw.
